hat a fun time we had. It started with Isaiah's preschool Christmas program. Isaiah didn't have a clue of what to do but stood on the stage with a big smile on his face shaking his head to make the bells on his hat ring. They made the Hats. All the kids were really cute and Isaiah was the smallest kid there at about half.

e scheduled a flight out on the 23rd early to Dallas to see Ben, Wanda and Matthew. Lee had to deliver a crane truck to Brownsville Texas the following week so we decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and drive the truck as far as Dallas and Lee could deliver the truck from Dallas the following week and get to spend extra time with grandson Matthew. He's such a good and smart little guy. We had sooooo much fun. We started out from Longmont on Wednesday afternoon and hit some really
bad weather in Southern Colorado and saw a bunch of wrecks with trucks and plows and stuff. What an obstacle course. We thought it would get better the further south we got but we were wrong as it got much worse. We spent the night in Stratford Texas in the panhandle and headed out early Thursday ih a ground blizzard with some times 0 visibility. We were driving between 17-25 mph. We finally made it 10 miles north of Wichita Falls (Iowa Park Texas)and the traffic stopped in the blizzard. It snowed 2 ft and there was 6ft in the ditches with the wind blowing about 30 and no plows anywhere or rescue personnel or police or whatever. We waited for 2 hours and Lee finally walked up to the front to see what was going on and found a jacknifed semi blocking the road and another in the ditch at the same location. The road had been closed off for nearly 4 hrs. already. Lee managed to get the crane truck to the front and pull out the truck and free up the traffic to keep hundreds of people from being stranded on Christmas eve. Lee pulled out several trucks and a pickup and finnally made it to Plano Tx about 2 AM.at Ben's. We averaged 29 mph for the whole trip. What a trip! We'll talk about it for years. We played with Matthew and Ben made a wonderful dinner on Christmas day. Mary flew back on Sunday because she had to be at work on Monday morning. Lee & Ben loaded up the BMW on the crane truck on Monday and took off to Brownsville on Tuesday morning. We made it to Brownsville by 4PM and then unloaded the BMW and headed to South Padre Island. The weather was cold but we then headed off to the Alamo in San Antonio. What a wonderful road trip with Ben. We had a Great time. Lee flew back home the following Sunday.
